Halloween Singles Cruise--7 Days--Ft. Lauderdale to Eastern Caribbean
by John Edwards, Host, Boomer Social Network While I am not organizing or escorting this cruise, I do work with this established agency in Florida specializing in singles cruises. They always have singles escorts on their cruises and private parties before and during the cruise. Here are my blunt suggestions for taking a cruise as a single.. For those who are interested, I will do a Cruise Night at the Fresh Fish Company Monday night October 6 at 7 p.m.. ***Join an already established singles group already pre-booked on a big ship.*** Do not expect the "Love Boat" or to find "Mr or Ms Right" on a cruise. Been there, done that. I have been on 19 cruises. Most were with a wife or a lady friend. However, what happens on a singles cruise with people from all over the country probably stays there. Like Halloween itself, dress up and be someone else." Who wants to be on an ocean cruise with the same Denver area singles you can meet over pizza and box wine at a church dance? There is still space on the agency's 7- day cruise on the enormous Royal Caribbean ship Allure of the Seas on Sunday October 26 starting at $1,076.46 per person, double occupancy for an inside cabin. That includes all taxes and port charges. Pre-paid cabin and waiter gratuities will be an additional $84 per person. The single inside cabin rate is $1,960.47 plus gratuities. Payment in full is required at this late date. Get trip cancellation insurance also. You must have a current passport to get on this Halloween cruise at this late date! If you don't have one, it is too late to get one. . Yes, John Edwards earns an agent's fee. I have a business relationship with the agency. Just like for my hotel singles dances, I earn a commission, No, you can't get a lower price on this sailing by booking direct with this agency. I have alerted the agency to my Colorado singles promotion. Of course you can go online to get a cheaper cruise, a different destination and another date. But, you will once again be "alone on a romantic cruise" among just-married couples, families with little children and older retirees.. The newly wed and the nearly dead. Possibly you are in a swell relationship. Do not go together on this singles cruise. Too many distractions! If you can not find someone here in Denver to share a cabin, this agency--not the cruise line--will take the time and effort to match you with a cabin mate of similar age, interests and habits. No additional charge. The single cabin rate for an inside cabin is $884 more. You won't be in the room that much. Payments are made only by credit card (it is safer) directly to the bonded cruise agency in Florida. I don't handle any money. WHAT'S THE AGE GROUP? No cruise line can or will tell you this. However, I was able to get the agency's age breakdown as of September 30. 307 guaranteed-singles are already signed up. Ages and the number in that category going so far are: 20 to 29--20, 30's--48, 40's--72, 50's--96, 60's--73 and 70's--13. Finally we Boomers are in the majority! GETTING THERE Flights from Denver to Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday October 25 returning Sunday November 2 are expensive and inconvenient. You can not fly same-day from Denver and be assured of getting to Ft. Lauderdale and on the ship by 4. Consequently you would need to stay in Florida overnight. Many of the other singles are staying at a nearby hotel at $187.59 per night. HOWEVER---JOHN HAS A WAY!!!! Spirit Airlines (known as the "add-on-everything" airline) has a "returning to hub base" overnight non-stop flight leaving DIA at 11 p.m. Saturday night and arriving in Ft. Lauderdale at 4:43 a.m.Sunday. Take pills and sleep. You book the flight online, chose how many bags to pay for (carry-on costs more than checked) and pay for those in advance. Bring your own food and soft drinks. Also bring breakfast rolls and fruit. "But John, what is open at 5 a.m. when we get to Ft. Lauderdale at time of the morning?" The beach! It is always open! Share a taxi and take your roller suitcase to a hotel that I know of on the beach. Store your bags. Go to the beach. Plenty of space, sand and sunshine. Take a fun water taxi tour. Later get a shared taxi to the cruise port. Drop your bags. Check in after one but before three. Eat at the buffet.. Take a nap. The lifeboat drill is around 5 as the ship sails. Your suitcases may not arrive outside your room until 5. The ship will not run out of over-priced welcoming fruit drinks, food or music. ***************************************************************************************************** INFO FROM THE TRAVEL AGENCY.............. Monday October 27, 2014 >> 7 am - 2 pm Nassau, BahamasFor a city now known for its warming sun and balmy breezes, Nassau has a tumultuous past. First settled by the English, the area was contested by England, France and Spain. For many years, Nassau was a home base for notorious pirates, and it was burned to the ground by the Spanish three different times. Since 1740, however, visitors from all over the world in search of both relaxation and adventure have made Nassau their favorite destination.
"Just take a taxi over the bridge to Atlantis Resort where players like Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods hang out. Eat in the underwater restaurant and walk about. The only thing the ship's expensive tour will get you extra is onto the resort's little beach and into the water slide pool. There is not that much time here." John Edwards

Wednesday October 29, 2014 >> 10 am - 7 pm St. Thomas, USVISt. Thomas is known as an idyllic vacation spot today, but its history is not so peaceful. In the 18th century, the island was at the center of a bustling pirate culture, as swashbuckling pirates such as Blackbeard and Drake traded stolen wares in the port of Charlotte Amalie. This world-renowned Caribbean island is home to amazing beaches, gorgeous sea and landscapes and unbelievable duty-free shopping.
"Take the aerial tram to the top of the mountain. The small beach is a mile walk. There are rows and rows of souvenir, gold and diamond shops that are duty free. The golf course has just three great holes." John
Thursday October 30, 2014 >> 8 am - 5 pm Philipsburg, St. MaartenWhen the Spanish closed their colonial fort on St. Maarten in 1648, a few Dutch and French soldiers hid on the island and decided to share it. Soon after, the Netherlands and France signed a formal agreement to split St. Maarten in half, as it is today. Philipsburg displays its Dutch heritage in its architecture and landscaping. The island offers endless stretches of beach, beautiful landscapes and great shopping.

Sunday November 2, 2014 >> 6:15 am Fort Lauderdale, FloridaThe Royal Caribbean Allure Of The Seas and all of our Singles Cruise guests arrive back in Ft. Lauderdale. After an exciting week full of fun, the cruise has finally come to an end. The memories and all your new found friendships will last a lifetime!
Most Frontier and Southwest return flights to Denver leave too early to get off the ship and catch the plane. The Spirit Air flight is at 8:15 pm. Consider a post cruise tour arranged by the ship. An afternoon Everglades boat tour will store your bags in the bus and deliver you to the airport. You can save $90 more on Spirit by returning Monday night. Rent a car at the cruise port and drop it off at the airport. Tour Miami and the Florida Keys. Your Monday flight is not until 8:15 pm which gives you two days to tour. John
Cruises--The Reality for Singles Adult singles would like to go on a cruise again. Many enjoyed cruise vacations when they were married. Then some took their children and later grandchildren. Now they are relegated to taking their parents. Not exactly a romantic cruise vacation. Besids they don't have a cruise partner and the cost of paying double for the cabin is prohibitive. Cruise ships are designed for couples and families. There are singles but it is difficult to find them except for an informal meeting the first night. ORGANIZING A COLORADO GROUP Taking a group of Colorado singles on a cruise is a daunting challenge--much like herding cats. Selecting a compatible date, getting deposits and working through cancellations is not pleasant. So, I don't do it. I have affiliated with SinglesCruise.com in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to put Colorado adult singles on their already booked and established cruises. You need a current passport. If you don't have one it is too late to get on this cruise. Most of the singles cruises are out of Florida. Frontier and Southwest Airlines fly into Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa and even Fort Myers. Since Florida cruise ships board between noon and 2:30 it is necessary for Colorado travelers to arrive in Florida the day before. At Boomer Social Network we will host Cruise Nights where local singles can meet prospective cabin mates. They can spend time together and determine if they are compatible sharing a cabin. that is far better than having the cruise line or the agency arrange a cabin mate. | Return Home | Weekly Newsletter | Past Dances | Singles Golf & Dine | Cruiser Bike Rides | Singles Cruises | Groups Happy Hour | Stories Photos | Host and Music | |
