At the Fresh Fish Company Bar

Every Monday night starting at 6 p.m. our Boomer Social Network hosts a Happy Hour and Meet-up Meal at The Fresh Fish Company Oyster Bar. This mini-meal includes half-price drinks and reduced price appetizers served in a private room off the bar rather than in the main restaurant.

Although the restaurant offers a regular happy hour for the public from 4:30 to 6 and from 8:30 to 10:30 weeknights, our Boomer Social Network gets the special pricing non-stop from 4:30 to 10:30 on Mondays only.

We gather in the newly remodeled semi-private room with aquariums and big screen televisions. Two large circular tables allow the group to talk easily with many attendees. The happy hour prices for our group are:

Adult Singles Beginner Golf

Our weekly "Learn to Golf & Social" for adult singles 50+ at Kennedy Golf Course will start up again in May.

Ladies can learn a new recreational activity. The men are happy to help them.

This is not for serious competition golfers. It is for adult singles meeting through golf. Our "really-beginner" golf mixers start on the south patio of the Kennedy clubhouse.

Our beginners play on the short Par-3 Course at Kennedy Golf Course at East Hampden and South Havana.

In this "scramble" event everyone hits their first drive. Then the ball that landed in the best location is selected. Other players pick up their ball and hit their next shots from there. Experienced golfers are teamed with beginners to give tips on techniques and help them learn on-course skills.

Some women have already taken lessons but never felt comfortable playing on a full-length course. Here you can. It is very relaxed.

$15 per person includes green fee, tee time, instruction and organization. Loaner sets of 4-5 clubs are available free.

The Par-3 can be played in under two hours. Traditional golf on a nine hole course takes more than 2 1/2 hours and is more expensive. You do not have to play each week or rush from work.
If it is raining, we go directly to the Fresh Fish Company bar.

Later we go to the nearby Fresh Fish Company (next to The Proof Nightclub on East Hampden) for their happy hour with reduced priced drinks and seafood appetizers. Shrimp cocktails, coconut shrimp, calamari, gumbo, clam chowder and prime rib sandwiches. Around 30 other adult singles (some golfers, some not) join us there.
