Boomer Social Network is organized and hosted by John Edwards, a retired newspaper editor and advertising/entertainment consultant.  

     As editor of the Colorado Golfer News, his 27-year relationships with Colorado country clubs, golf courses and luxury hotels allows him to host dances at these premier locations.

     The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel and Heather Ridge Country Club in Southeast Aurora have been the site of many recent dances including an annual New Years Dances for singles.

     Other dances have been held at Valley Country Club, Lone Tree Golf Club and Kennedy Golf  clubhouse. Hotel dances have also been held at the Sheraton Denver Tech Center Hotel, the Red Lion Hotel and the Doubletree Denver North in Westminster.

     Boomer Social organized events in conjunction with other singles event planners such as Lory Gallagher of Spread the Word Network.  He also teamed with Tony David & Kerry Edwards (Wildefire) plus Tom LeRoux, leader of Colorado's famous Nacho Men show band for events.

    Currently he maintains 12 Meetup groups for singles ages 50+ in the southern suburbs surrounding Denver.

    He sends out an entertainment newsletter to adult singles listing and describing his events and other entertainment for adult singles in the Denver area.

     His dance organizing began in college for his Sigma Chi fraternity at the University of Montana and expanded into planning all the Student Union rock & roll dances. In the summer he worked in Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks working up to a Yellowstone National Park Ranger.

  Following graduation and as an Air Force officer, he was assigned for three years as the Public Relations Officer at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver. there he organized the large dances at the Lowry Air Force Base Officers Club. Then he served as Public Affairs Officer for the Wyoming Air National Guard for 18 years retiring at the rank of Major. 

     Throughout the 1970’s, he was marketing consultant to some of Denver’s largest and most famous nightclubs including The #3 Lift in Glendale. There was also the Sweetwater live music club in Denver, Yesterday's Country in Lakewood and the Harvest House Hotel in Boulder.

     In the 1980’s, he hosted Professional Social parties for singles in the 30+ age group every Tuesday night at the Wellington Broker in Glendale. Additionally he did a similar party Wednesday nights at the Boulder Broker and every Thursday night at The Raintree Inn in Colorado Springs. That hectic schedule lasted for three years.

     Later, during the 13 years he was married, John still consulted for area hotels, restaurants and resorts. He published the Colorado Golfer, the state golf newspaper and covered PGA Tour tournaments.  Today, the Colorado Golfer News is an online newsletter sent to 5,000 golfers.

     He is the National President of the 55-member Golf Travel Writers of America plus a member of Golf Writers Association of America. He has attended the Masters Golf Tournament eight times.

     A recognized golf travel consultant, he has been on 19 ship cruises and has visited and written about more than 100 golf and spa resorts in North America  He has also visited and written about resorts in Scotland, Ireland, England, Spain, Italy and France. 

     He also hosts Winter Amtrak Train Singles Vacations and occasionally writes travel and  society event stories for the 84,000-circulation Glendale-Cherry Creek Chronicle newspaper.

 






Lory Gallagher of 45+ Singles Meetup and Spread the Word Network.com  teamed up with John Edwards of Boomer Social Network to present large hotel dances and the annual New Year's Eve dance.
